We have a big, fat black cat named Jack.
In Jack’s world, this is how he sees himself….
But in reality, this is Jack…
Most days, you will find Jack flopped in front of the fire place trying to soak up every ounce of heat.
And, snoring extremely loudly!
Or, trying to stuff himself into a cardboard box (shoe boxes are his favorite).
He’s feisty and persnickety but we love him.
It’s nice to show our feline friends how much we love them but pampering them.
6 Ways to Pamper Your Cat
1. Provide lots of fun activities to keep them entertained
Although they like to play it cool, cats love to play. Simple things like a laser pointer, a piece of year or even a crumpled up piece of aluminum foil can keep your cat entertained. No matter how domesticated they are, they still love to hunt, chase and pounce.
2. Brush them regularly
Cats love to be brushed. Jack will come running whenever we bring the brush out. It helps to cut down on shedding and hair balls and is good for their coat.
3. Feed them only the finest foods
Treat your cat to a “gourmet” meal. We like to feed Jack Fancy Feast. Every delicious Fancy Feast selection is made with high-quality protein sources and ingredients.
4. Provide a soft, comfy bed for hours of snoring
Cats have a way of finding the softest spot in the house for their cat naps. Make it easy by providing a cat bed or a soft blanket for their snooze-fest. Jack loves to sleep on one of my husband’s old flannel shirts.
5. Provide a safe window perch of hours of outdoor entertainment
Cats love to watch things outside. Whether it’s the leaves rustling in the wind or birds at a bird feeder, your cat will love to sit in a window and watch the world go by.
6. Litter boxes should always be clean
People prefer clean bathrooms so why should cats get anything less? They are the superior species, after all. We use a Litter Genie to keep Jack’s litter area neat and tidy.
Its unique air-tight design helps keep smells in even when you open the lid and waste is sealed away for up to 14 days for one cat. It’s easy to use, just scoop the clumps from the litter box, open the lid and drop them in then pull the handle to help seal in waste and odors. Plus, its compact design and easy-carry handle is great for small spaces.
