Ingredient Notes for Candied Bacon Crackers
- Bacon: Use a package of thin sliced bacon for this recipe. You won’t want to use thick cut bacon, as thick slices of bacon won’t cook as well in the oven on the crackers. You want to drain all the bacon fat.
- Townhouse crackers: You can also use Ritz crackers, Buttery Club crackers, or any type of box of crackers that are a buttery cracker.
- Cayenne pepper: For less spicy crackers, a half teaspoon of black pepper will work.
See the recipe card below for a complete list of the ingredients with measurements.
Variations and Substitutions for Bacon Glazed Crackers
- Pepper Jam: For more of a spicy kick, brush these crackers with pepper jam.
- Maple Syrup: Add some maple syrup for sweeter crackers.

These are the basic steps for making bacon glazed crackers. Refer to the full, printable recipe card below for detailed instructions.
Step 1: Prep
First, preheat the oven, then cut each piece of bacon into thirds or fourths. Then, place a wire rack over a baking sheet. I like to place parchment paper under the rack to make clean up easier.
Step 2: Arrange Crackers are Topped with Bacon
Arrange the crackers evenly in a single layer on top of the rack, then top each cracker with a slice of bacon. In a small bowl, combine brown sugar and cayenne – this adds sweetness with a little heat.
Step 3: Bake Crackers
Next, sprinkle brown sugar and cayenne on top of the bacon pieces. Bake at 400 degrees until bacon is crisp and the sugar starts to caramelize. Make sure to watch the oven, or the crackers will burn.

Ummmm where have these been all my life?! As a bacon lover I must make these!
These were a perfect snack for a get together! I love that they were something different from the usual, and everyone seemed to really like them.
I have a similar recipe that says to bake at 250 for 1 hour
Made these in advance, might not have been a good idea- crackers got soft. How do you store these? I’m going to try to freshen them up by placing on pan in oven at 400 for a few minutes…fingers crossed.
They are definitely better when made fresh. I like the idea of freshening them in the oven. That should be a good fix!
I mafe these and they are great. However I took them to the next level with a little jalapeno peper jelly on top
Why didn’t I think of that! Brilliant! I’ll bet they were awesome!
Tomorrow I’ll give it a go! Sounds yummy!
Awesome! Be sure to let me know what you think 🙂
I made two pans of this. My bacon curled up and the crackers got very dark. I lowered the temp to 350 and the crackers didn’t over-brown, but the bacon didn’t really crisp… but it was still tasty;.
I would put a little of the sugar mixture on the cracker as well
Hi, Love the look of your Easy Glazed Bacon Crackers!
How does the bacon stick to the cracker?
Thanks!
The brown sugar caramelizes and melts causing the bacon to adhere to the cracker.
