How Do I Make Cooked Eggs Easier to Peel?

a tray of appetizers with paprika and fresh herbs on a wooden serving platter.

To make your boiled eggs easier to peel, add vinegar, salt, or baking soda to water and bring to a boil. These will soften the eggshells so that you can peel the eggs. You can also place the eggs in a bowl of ice water before you peel them, so the shells will come off easily.

Ingredient Notes for Sriracha Spicy Deviled Eggs Appetizer

Eggs, paprika, hot sauce, parsley, lemon, and a bowl of creamy sauce, on a marble surface.
  • Hard Boiled Large Eggs: Hard boiled eggs will have a solid yolk, unlike soft boiled eggs. To make hard-boiled eggs, place them in a medium pot or saucepan and add water to cover them. Then, bring the water to a boil and remove from heat when the eggs float. Cook 6 eggs to 24 eggs, adjusting the ingredients proportionally.

1. Halve the Eggs Lengthwise and Make the Filling

First, peel eggs, and cut the eggs in half lengthwise. Using a spoon, remove yolks, and place the yolks in a bowl of a food processor. Set egg whites aside in a single layer. Then, add the mayonnaise, 2 tablespoons of sweet chili sauce, garlic powder, sriracha, and House Seasoning Blend to the food processor. Mix until creamy and smooth.

2. Fill the Deviled Eggs

Next, transfer egg mixture to a piping bag. Pipe the filling into the egg white halves and top with garnish of choice or spoon the yolk mixture into the egg whites if you don’t have a piping bag. The eggs are now ready to serve!
