Love this dip! Every time I bring it to a get together I’m asked for the recipe. I also make it a salad. I mix the lettuce, tomatoes, peppers, meat and cheese together, along with some chopped black olives and red onion, then I mix the dressing ingredients separately (mayo, oil, seasonings, a little pepper juice or red wine vinegar) and only add the dressing right before serving. So, so good!
It was ok but not very flavorful. I don’t think I’d take it to a party. Maybe I did something wrong but I can’t figure it out, I followed the recipe exactly. Bummed ☹️
Hmm. It is full of flavor so I too am confused. You can always add more flavor with banana peppers or herbs.
Used about a half cup more of mayo and a tablespoon more of olive oil as the recipe as given made it a bit dry for our liking. Pepperonichini peppers instead of hot peppers and chopped black olives took this iver the top. Also used a bag of shredded lettuce.
Can this be mixed and refrigerated over night?
It could but I would not leave it too long as just like a regular hoagie, it will break down with the vinegar in the dressing.
What vinegar? Not In ingredients list.
There is no vinegar in this recipe.
Right?! I’m making it right now and will add some red wine vinegar at the end! I also added garlic and onion powder, pepper, and doubled the dressing
Excellent
Such a fun and hearty dip! It was gone in a matter of minutes!
Thank you so much for sharing this amazing recipe! Will surely have this again! It’s really easy to make and it tasted so delicious! Highly recommended!
