This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Ellio’s Pizza for IZEA. All opinions are 100% mine.

Some of the best memories from my childhood where family game nights. We always played board games after big family dinners.  And, every weekend when we slept over my grandparent’s house, we would end up playing

We played all sorts of games – everything from card games like Hearts or Contract Rummy to board games like Pictionary and Scrabble.

In fact, I still have my grandparent’s Scrabble game and every time I open the box, memories come rushing back to me.

Our family game nights were so much fun.  I think that’s where I ultimately found my competitive streak!

Today, I still love having game nights.  There is just something about getting together with family and friends to play games that makes me happy.

Here are some tips to help you have a great game night:

1.  Keep it light and fun!  Shorter games are best if you have children joining in the festivities.  Some of my favorites are Tapple, Farkle and Whoonu.

2.  Familiarize yourself with the rules of the game before your guests arrive.  No one wants to sit around waiting while you try to figure out how to play.

3. Game nights don’t have to be at night!  If you have small children, consider playing in the afternoon so bedtimes aren’t affected.

4. If the game requires teams, try pairing up adults and children.  It’s even fun to pull names from a hat to keep things fair.

5. Serve easy food.  I prefer to serve food that requires minimal utensils.  One of my favorite things to serve is Ellio’s Pizza.

Ellio’s Pizza is an easy and affordable way to feed a crowd on game night. There are several varieties to choose from so you can offer an array of choices.

I love how easy it is to make, too.  Since it takes under 15 minutes to make, if we run out, I can simply pop more into the oven.

As a mom, I can feel good that Ellio’s Pizza is made with real ingredients, like 100% real cheese and no artificial flavors. My mom used to make Ellio’s pizza for us when we were kids – it’s a trusted brand that’s been around for over five decades.
