What is Boom Boom Sauce

If you’ve never been to a Sheetz gas station, you may not know what Boom Boom Sauce is.  Boom Boom Sauce is a type of fry sauce that Sheetz serves with some of their menu items.

Subscribe to my YouTube channel for step-by-step tutorials of your favorite It Is a Keeper recipes!

It’s a mayonnaise based garlic chili sauce.  The flavor is incredible – there’s a touch of heat, a little bit of sweetness and a great garlic taste.  It’s the perfect combination of flavors, in my opinion.

What to Use Boom Boom Sauce On

This sauce is incredibly versatile. It goes on just about anything.  Heck, I’d probably eat my shoe if it had this sauce on it.

I love it on burgers, fries and sandwiches.  But, I especially love it on these Shrimp Tacos.

Expert Tips for Making Boom Boom Sauce

  • Use a plunger measuring cup for the mayonnaise.  I love this using plunger measuring cup for ingredients like mayo, ketchup or peanut butter.  It’s so easy.
  • This recipe can easily be doubled.  We go through a lot of this Boom Boom Sauce at my house.  I usually make a double or triple batch so that I always have it on hand.
  • Store extra sauce in a jar with a tight fitting lid.  I love using these jars.
  • For best results, make this Boom Boom Sauce several hours ahead of time.  It gives all of the flavors a chance to become with each other and amp up the deliciousness factor. The longer it sits, the better it is.

This boom boom sauce was the perfect condiment for shrimp I brought to a holiday party. A little squeeze of lemon juice on top of the shrimp and then a dip into this fabulous sauce was heavenly!

Ooohhh this was a huge hit! I have always mixed mayo and ketchup together for my chicken and fries, but adding just a few simple spices really takes it to another (even fancier) level.
