  4. I am looking for strawberry jello mold recipe which included mandarin oranges, crushed pineapple and I believe cool whip. I enjoyed this years ago and possibly did not list all the ingredients, Maybe coconut and marshmellows too were added making it an ambrosia. A suggestion would be really helpful.

      • Does anyone know the recipe for a jello desert with the word “Carousel” in the name of the desert? It’s from many years ago, and you used a ring mold. Once the ingredients were chilled, I believe you mixed phili cream cheese with one or two ingredients and you would spread this on top of the jello before inverting onto a serving platter. We made this at Thanksgiving and Christmas. Thanks

    • My aunt used to make a similar one. Never could get the recipe from her but there is one called layered Christmas gelatin that might be close to what you want

    • I think this may be what you are looking for: 1 lime jello, 3/4 cup pineapple juice, 2 tbsp lemon juice, 1/2 cup evaporated milk, 1/2 tsp salt, 1 can crushed pineapple, 1 cup creamed cottage cheese, 1/2 cup miracle whip (mayonnaise), 1/2 cup chopped celery, 1/4 cup walnut pieces. Heat 1/2 juice to boiling and stir in jello until melted. Pour into mixing bowl and add remaining juice. Add remaining ingredients and pour into mood (or into appropriate sized bowl). Refrigerate until set (4-6 hours or overnight)…..hope this helps! I make it every year at Christmas!

    • It sounds as though you’re looking for one of our family’s holiday “staples!” My mother called it, “Pineapple-Cheese Mold” and wrote it out as:

      3 oz. pkg lime gelatin
      1 cup boiling water
      1 cup evaporated milk
      1 cup cottage cheese
20 oz. can of crushed pineapple, well drained
      1/2 cup mayonnaise
      1/4 cup celery, chopped
1/4 cup nuts, chopped (I use either walnuts or pecans)

Over the years, I’ve adapted it by doubling the gelatin, water, celery, and nuts. The 16 oz. cottage cheese container is basically 2 cups, so I use the whole container. I also use the entire 12 oz. can of evaporated milk. I do not double the pineapple or the mayonnaise.

Hope this is what you were looking for. Enjoy!
