Spaghetti Pie Recipe
This is a guest post by Elana Birnbaum.
If you are craving pasta, pizza and pie, we’ve got a recipe for you to try – Spaghetti Pie. It’s interesting, delicious and easy to make. It’s kind of like a deep dish pizza pie, made of spaghetti. You can prepare the pie in just ten minutes but you will need 6 oz. of spaghetti, cooked, 2 Tbsp. of olive oil, 2 eggs, well beaten and 1 cup of pasta sauce. You will also need the following three cheeses; ¾ cup (3 oz) of Shredded Parmesan Cheese, divided, 1 cup of Whole Milk Ricotta Cheese and ½ cup of Shredded Mozzarella Cheese. The perfect parmesan will have a nutty, full bodied flavor.
To make your spaghetti pie, toss your cooked spaghetti with olive oil in a large bowl. Then, stir in your eggs and ½ a cup of Parmesan Cheese. Pour your spaghetti mixture into a greased ten inch pie plate and form it into a crust. When baked it will be deliciously crispy and the perfect casing for the warm sauce and cheese inside. After you have your crust formed, spoon ricotta cheese over the crust and top it with pasta sauce. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and when it’s ready, pop in your pie. Bake the spaghetti pie for about 25 minutes and then top it with mozzarella cheese. Then, bake the pie for about 5 more minutes or until the cheese is melted. Take out your pie and sprinkle it with your remaining Parmesan cheese. Let the pie cool for about ten minutes and then serve.
This recipe will feed six and only takes 10 minutes to prepare. This delicious lunch or dinner is low in calories and high in calcium. It’s a fun pizza alternative that can even be made with spaghetti leftover’s – how convenient is that? Just watch as your leftover pasta is turned into something yummy and new. You can also just make it for the sake of making a delicious meal, even if you don’t already have the spaghetti prepared. It will surely be enjoyed.

So simple and orginal; love it! I think I’ll add some veggies to it as well -spinach, mushrooms, onion – and give it a try. Thanks for sharing!
