Step 1: PREP
First, preheat your oven to 350 degrees and prepare a baking dish.
Step 2: IN A DUTCH OVEN OR BAKING DISH
Then in a large dutch oven, melt 1/2 cup butter over medium heat. Next, add onion and the next two ingredients, and saute for 5-6 minutes or until tender. Then add flour and cook for one minute, stirring until smooth.
Step 3: MAKE THE SAUCE
Whisk in broth, half and half, and white wine. Reduce heat to medium and cook, stirring constantly, for 6-8 minutes or until thickened.
Step 4: ASSEMBLE
Next, remove from heat and add parmesan cheese, salt and pepper. Stir in tortellini, broccoli and chicken. Then spoon into a lightly greased 13×9 casserole dish. Stir together 1/2 cup grated cheese, crackers and melted butter. Lastly, sprinkle over casserole.
Step 5: BAKE TIME
Finally, bake tortellini casserole at 350 degrees for 40-45 minutes or until bubbly and the tortellini is cooked.
