This Instant Pot Beef with the Balsamic Sauce is a mouth-watering, tender beef dish that will become your new favorite.

Instant Pots are amazing. It has become my new favorite kitchen appliance because it cooks meals like my Instant Pot Beef with Balsamic Sauce so effortlessly.

When time is of the essence, and it usually is, you can’t go wrong with an Instant Pot.

Why this Instant Pot Beef Works

The Instant pot wins over my crockpot for many dishes for several reasons.

The Instant Pot allows you to brown the beef for my Pressure Cooker Beef recipes right in the same appliance.  It also can sauté vegetables before you do a soup or stew.

The major difference is the ability to cook much quicker and get diner on the table much sooner.

How to Make Instant Pot Beef with Balsamic Sauce – Step by Step

  • Step One: First, season the beef with the house seasoning on all sides. (Photo 1 below)
  • Step Two: Next, sprinkle flour on roast and cover in a layer.  (Photo 2 below)
  • Step Three: Place the instant pot on the sauté and then brown all sides of the roast. (Photo 3 below)

  • Step Four: Next, in a separate bowl, add the broth and brown sugar to a bowl. (Photo 1 below)
  • Step Five: Then add vinegar to the bowl.  (Photo 2 below)
  • Step Six: Next, add the soy sauce to the mixture.  (Photo 3 below)

Step by step instructions for making pressure cooker roast beef

  • Step Seven: Then add the Worcestershire Sauce and stir together. (Photo 1 below)
  • Step Eight: Finally, add the fresh minced garlic and the crushed red pepper flakes. (Photo 2 below)
  • Step Nine: Then cooking follow the directions for your pound roast and next pressure release. Lastly, remove the roast and set aside. mix water and corn starch together add to the hot liquid in the pot and stir to thicken. (Photo 3 below)

Can I Cook this Instant Pot Beef Roast in a Slow Cooker?

The Instant Pot allows you to brown the beef for my Instant Pot Beef with Balsamic Sauce right in the same appliance. It also can sauté vegetables before you do a soup or stew.

The major difference is the ability to cook much quicker and get diner on the table much sooner but you can cook the beef in the slow cooker.

Brown the beef on the stovetop in a skillet. Next, place all the ingredients in the slow cooker for 8 hours of cooking time on the low setting. The same piece of meat needs a little over 5 hours on the high setting.

Expert Tips for Making the Best Instant Pot Beef

  • Use Good Vinegar: Really good balsamic vinegar has a rich full bodied flavor that will really enhance this Instant Pot Beef.
  • Make it Keto: Serve with riced cauliflower or a side of Spinach.
  • Freeze the Leftovers: Freeze the meat for up to two months then defrost in the refrigerator and next reheat anytime.

Instant Pot Beef with Balsamic Sauce

Equipment

  • Instant Pot

Ingredients

  • 3 lb beef chuck roast
  • 1 teaspoon House seasoning blend
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1/4 cup light brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 3 cloves garlic - minced
  • 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper
  • 1 tablespoon corn starch
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 2 tablespoon flour
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions

  • Season beef generously with house seasoning. Cover roast with flour.
  • Set pressure cooker to saute setting.
  • Add olive oil. Sear beef on all sides.
  • Meanwhile, whisk together broth, brown sugar, vinegar, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce and garlic.
  • When beef is browned on all sides, add sauce mixture to the pressure cooker.
  • Attach lid and ensure that the vent is set to "sealing".
  • Set to cook on Manual (high) for 60 minutes. (Add 10 additional minutes for each extra pound of beef over 3.)
  • Manual release for 10 minutes.
  • Remove roast and set pressure cooker to Soup setting; bring sauce to a boil.
  • Mix cornstarch and water together and stir into sauce to thicken.
  • Pour sauce over beef to serve.
