The holiday season is a time for celebrations. And, whether they’re with family, friend, co-workers or neighbors, the perfect cocktail (or mocktail) is an essential component of holiday shindigs!
Nothing says “Bring on the holidays!”, like a festive holiday cocktail!
I can remember when I was a kid and my parent’s would throw a holiday party. I was always envious of the adults because they got to drink fancy cocktails from pretty glasses while the kids were stuck with disposable plastic cups. I could never understand why we (the kids) weren’t allowed to drink our soft drinks from the pretty glasses, too.
Now that I’m a mom, I understand completely. I wouldn’t trust a 7-year old with my good stemware at a party. However, at smaller celebrations, like family dinners, I often serve my son his drink in a fancy cocktail glass. Why not? It’s a time for him to feel special too!
The fine folks at the Dr Pepper® Snapple Group® have put together a fun collection of holiday cocktails and mocktails that are sure to put a little pep in your next holiday party!
Here are few to get you started:
Mistletoe Mocktail

Canada Dry® Cranberry Ginger Ale
Fresh cranberries
Fresh rosemary sprigs
Use the flavored ginger ale as a base and mix in fresh cranberries. Add rosemary as a festive garnish to create a mistletoe-inspired drink.
Holiday Mojito Cocktail
Compliments of MyLifeMyFlavor.com
10 fresh cranberries
Lime juice
Mint
1 tablespoon sugar
1 shot of rum
Canada Dry® Sparkling Seltzer Water
Red or green colored sugar crystals (optional)
You’ll need a muddler to break down eight to ten cranberries with lime juice. Mix in mint leaves and about a tablespoon of sugar. Fill a tall glass with ice and a shot of rum, then mix in the cranberry mixture. Add sparkling seltzer water to the drink, then garnish with a few mint leaves. You could also use a sugar-rimmed glass to serve this holiday cocktail. Use red or green colored sugar crystals around the rim of the glass for that extra festive touch!
