These Air Fryer Biscuits are a quick, homemade alternative to the store bought version. They are so easy but taste so good, they really elevate any dish, so make them for breakfast, lunch or dinner.  This is one of my all time favorite air fryer recipes.

Air Fryer Biscuits, especially the buttermilk are my favorite bread to serve hot from the oven. They are great for on the go breakfast sandwiches, a side for soup or even a quick slider sandwich.  This are an easy homemade alternative to refrigerated biscuits, such as Pillsbury Grands biscuits or frozen biscuits.

What You Need to Make Air Fryer Biscuits

  • flour
  • baking powder
  • salt
  • butter
  • buttermilk

How to Make Air Fryer Biscuits – Instructions

  • Dry: First, in a mixing bowl, combine dry ingredients – all purpose flour, baking powder and salt and then add diced butter to flour mixture and with your hands. Massage the cold butter into the flour.
  • Mix:  Second, using a dough hook, knead the dough on medium speed slowly pour the buttermilk until dough ball forms.
  • Flatten: Next, lightly dust a flat surface with flour and flatten dough to 1 1/2 inch thick.
  • Cut: Using a round biscuit cutter, cut out biscuits. Re-knead and flatten excess biscuit dough for more biscuits.
  • Bake: Finally, spray the basket with oil spray, cooking spray or line with parchment paper and place biscuits in single layer in the air fryer basket. Brush tops with melted butter and air fry at 370 for 5 minutes on each side or until golden brown.

It is very easy to make your own. For every 1 cup of milk, stir in 1 tablespoon lemon juice or alternatively, vinegar. Then let the mixture rest for 10 minutes.CAN THIS RECIPE BE DOUBLED OR HALVED?

Of course, you can make as many or as few biscuits that you require. However, I suggest more because they have so many uses.RECIPE BE FROZEN?

  • Variation tip: Feel free to add fresh or dried herbs to the biscuits. for example: garlic, chives, rosemary.
  • Cold is Best: Freeze the butter after dicing while you do the rest of the recipe. it provides great lift and flavor.
  • Sharp Edges: Most bakers say that a sharp cutter allows for a better rise as you do not squish the sides.
  • Close: Biscuit should touch while baking. this allows the tops to get golden but the middles to stay soft and fluffy.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 4 tablespoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 4 tablespoons butter , chilled and diced
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 tablespoon melted butter
