During the dog days of summer staying hydrated is a must. And, I can’t think of a better way to cool down that by sipping on this Ginger Lemon Tea Chiller.
It’s so refreshing and I love the hint of ginger flavor. I’ve found myself making big batches of this mocktail and enjoying it all day long.
There’s no need to spend money on coffee-shop iced beverages when this one is so easy to make at home. It’s perfect to sip by the pool, while running errands or at summer get-togethers.
It starts with your Keurig brewer! Keurig brewers are so versatile that they can brew cold summer drinks over ice in addition to hot coffee.
I used the Celestial Seasonings Half & Half Brew Over Ice K-Cups for this recipe. It’s half tea and half lemonade. I love lemon. Whenever I order a drink, I usually ask for extra lemon. I was so excited to find this option available in K cups! If you’ve never had the half and half combo you really must try it! It’s the best of both worlds. It’s like iced tea on lemon steroids!
I found the K-Cups at my local Wal-Mart. There were in the coffee aisle but there was also a K-Cup display on one of the end caps too.
I also just learned that Keurig has it’s own recycling program for K-Cups. The Grounds To Grow program offers a way for K-Cup users to return used cups for processing that separates grounds for compost and plastics for re-use. Pretty neat, huh?!
To make this beverage, I brewed 2 cups of Celestial Seasonings Half & Half Brew Over Ice. I brewed mine right into a measuring cup to make sure I had just the right amount.
Once the tea was brewed, I crushed about 2 cups of ice in my blender.
Next, I poured the tea and remaining ingredients over the ice and stirred until it was thoroughly combined. That’s it. Easy as pie!
Since I was going to be outdoors, I poured mine into these super cute plastic hurricane glasses. This way I didn’t have to worry about it breaking into a million shards of glass.
I highly recommend whipping up this refreshing beverage immediately! The handy printable recipe is below!
