What You Need to Make Halloween Apple Snacks

Ingredients

  • apple
  • strawberry 
  • sliced almonds
  • peanut butter
  • candy eyes

How to Make Apple Monster Halloween Snacks – Step by Step

Cut apple, with the ingredients to assemble monsters.
  • Gather: First, gather the apples, strawberries (sliced), peanut butter, almonds and candy eyes
  • Cut: Second, cut the apples in quarters, remove core and then cut an opening. The opening will be the Monster’s mouth.
  • Peanut butter: Next, using a butter knife, spread a layer of peanut butter into the cavity you cut into each apple.  
Teeth being added, then eyes and finally the strawberries.
  • Teeth: Place several almond slices into the peanut butter on the top of each apple section. Next add the monster’s tongue: Lay a strawberry slice onto the bottom of the cavity. 
  • Eyes: Finally, use peanut butter to attach the candy eyes onto the apple section.

CAN THESE HALLOWEEN APPLES BE MADE AHEAD OF TIME?

Indeed, these Apple Monster Halloween treats can easily be made ahead of time.  However, because you’re using fresh apples, I would make them the same day you are planning to eat them.

HOW TO PREVENT THE APPLES FROM BROWNING?

There are a number of ways, For example:

  • 5 sliced almonds
  • 1 tablespoon peanut butter
  • 2 candy eyes

Instructions

  • Cut apple in quarters and remove apple core.
  • Use a paring knife to cut an opening into the center of each piece.  The opening will be the Monster’s mouth.

  • Place 4-5 almond slices for the Monster’s teeth into the peanut butter on the top of each apple section.
  • Lay a strawberry slice for the Monster’s tongue onto the bottom of the cavity.

    super cute! Took these to the classroom halloween party but used soy nut butter instead of peanut butter as we are a nut free school. Super cute!
