If you like tips, recipes, cooking you’re going to love this trick! This is the best way to freeze leftover smoothies, stock, wine and more! #SAVEITSUNDAY #FoodFairyTale
How many times have you made smoothies only to end up with leftovers? This happens to me all the time.Or, maybe you like to get a jumpstart on breakfast by making big batches of smoothies and freezing them.
If either of these two scenarios applies to you, I have a nifty little trick to help you freeze your leftovers easily and protect them from freezer burn at the same time!
This method uses one of my favorite products of all time….Glad Press and Seal! I absolutely LOVE this stuff!
It (easily) and tightly seals on a many different surfaces such as glass, paper, plastic and wood. Plus, it also seals tightly to itself allowing you to create custom-shaped bags to fit almost anything. You can learn more about all of the Glad food protection products here.
This trick that I’m going to show you uses Glad Press and Seal. You start with an empty muffin pan. Then cut squares of Press and Seal large enough to fit in each muffin cup and hang over the edge. Like so….
Then you pour your leftover smoothie (or other liquid) into each cup. Be careful not to overfill them, though.
Leaving the edges out – don’t fold them over yet – place the whole thing in the freezer. Let them hangout there for a few hours until they set up and firm.
Lift out each smoothie puck (don’t they look like pucks?!) and wrap the extra Press and Seal around it tightly. Place the wrapped pucks in a Glad Freezer Zipper bag. Seal the bag, write the date and contents on it with a permanent marker and stash them in the freezer.
I love easy tips that make my life simpler. You can find more kitchen and cooking tips and tricks here.
