In my last post, I told you about the fun Elf on the Shelf party we went to a few weeks ago. This past weekend, we got together with our friends once again for a Polar Express party! My good friend, Jill, hosted a similar party a few years ago. The kids had so much fun that she decided to do it again this year!
Everyone came in their jammies to watch The Polar Express (one of our favorite Christmas movies). The popcorn machine was fired up and everyone settled in front of the TV to watch.
We all got authentic Polar Express tickets and hole punchers to create our own messages and each kid got their own bell (to show that they believe).
We also had all kinds of Polar Express themed treats, like train-shaped pizza, hot chocolate (of course!), cotton candy snow balls and these cute North Pole Cupcakes that I made.

As you know, I absolutely love Christmas morning! It’s one of the times that I really enjoy making breakfast. Some of my favorite breakfast recipes are Christmas Morning Breakfast Braid and Red Velvet Pancakes with Cream Cheese Syrup. Oh, and Cowboy Sandwiches — how could I forget those?!?
Our plans have changed a bit for this Christmas morning. We are going to my sister’s house for brunch. I needed to find a recipe that would be easy to make and take with me. I came across this recipe for a French Toast Bake on Pinterest. It’s perfect for Christmas morning because I can assemble it all the day before and bake it when I’m ready.
I’m on a mission to find some new recipes for Christmas morning. I think Christmas morning breakfast is my favorite time of the day. It’s that peaceful time after all of the gifts have been opened and before the house is full of family and friends. Sort of the lull between the storms.
I absolutely love this particular time of the day. I can sit back and enjoy breakfast. There’s no where to run off to. No appointments or errands or expectations for the morning. Except for maybe trying to free some toy from its Fort Knox style packaging.
