Instructions
Blueberry Simple Syrup
Combine 1 cup water, 1 cup sugar, and 1 cup frozen blueberries to a medium saucepan. Heat until mixture starts to boil and let boil for 5-6 minutes.
Remove the saucepan from heat and strain mixture into a mixing bowl. Use a spoon to squeeze out all the extra juice from the blueberries.
Blueberry Mojito
Add mint, blueberries, and lime juice into a shake cup. Use a muddler to mash the blueberries and release the oils from the mint.
Add blueberry simple syrup, white rum, and ice to the shaker cup. Shake well until chilled.
Pour into a cocktail glass. If desired, garnish with fresh blueberries, limes, and mint.
Notes
No Muddler
: If you don't have a cocktail muddler on hand, don't worry! You can use a potato masher or the back of a spoon.
Shake or Stir?:
Whether you shake or stir your mojito is a personal preference, but shaking will help create a more frothy and well mixed drink.
Use High Quality Ingredients:
Using fresh mint leaves, blueberries, and lime juice will make all the difference in the final taste of your drink.
