Start by mixing the first five ingredients listed together either with a mixer that has a bread hook attachment or in a large bowl (make sure not to over mix the dough).
Once combined, divide the dough into two greased and floured bread pans.
Next let the dough rise in the pans until it reaches the top of the pan (about 30 minutes).
Then, place the bread in the oven. Bake the bread for 35 minutes on the center oven rack.
Then 10 minutes before the bread is done, brush the surface of the bread with melted butter.
Place the bread back in the oven and bake for 10 minutes or until golden brown. Keep a close eye on your toast bread so it doesn't get too dark.
After baking, let the bread cool in pans for about 5 minutes before placing it on a wire rack.
Finally, after allowing the bread to cool completely, cut and serve.
Notes
Honey: Do more than just buttered toast. Place bread directly on a baking sheet and add a little honey on top to sweeten your English bread.
Dried Fruits: Add-in dried fruits such as raisins or dried cranberries into your dough mixture to add zing to your bread.
Cinnamon: Put ground cinnamon into your mixture to give your pieces of bread a sweet and delicious flavor.
