Ingredients

  • 12 Chocolate chip cookies - I use soft cookies from the bakery
  • 1/2 cup Red buttercream frosting
  • 2 cups Mini marshmallows
  • 24 Slivered almonds

Instructions

  • Cut each cookie in half.
  • Flip each cookie half over and use a piping bag fitted with a ribbon tip to draw a ribbon of frosting along the edge.
  • Place mini marshmallows on the frosting ribbon on half of the cookie halves.
  • Place the other half of the cookie on top of the half with marshmallows.
  • Stick 2 almond slivers into the frosting to resemble fangs.

Notes

  • Use a sharp knife: Using a sharp kitchen knife will ensure your cookies have clean edges.
  • Carefully pipe frosting:  I highly recommend using a piping bag for the frosting rather than a knife.  You will get a clean line of frosting that will look neat.  For tips on making a piping bag from a zipper bag, check this out
  • Prop them up:  If you are making the cookies a day ahead of time. you may want to place half of toothpick on the back side of the cookie to hold it up over night.

Helpful Tips for All Recipes
  • When a recipe call for House Seasoning Blend, you can find the recipe on www.itisakeeper.com. Simply search for "House Seasoning Blend" or you can substitute salt and pepper to taste.
  • I always use unsalted butter in my recipes.
  • I always use a meat thermometor to test for doneness when cooking meat.
  • When a recipe is made in the oven, it should be pre-heated to the temperature in the recipe, unless otherwise noted.
