Put the lid on and cook for 3-4 hours on low, or until pierogies are cooked through.
Notes
This Recipe Can be Doubled: Make a double batch for a crowd or mix and match flavors for a great variety.
Toppings: Top with fresh parsley or green onions or bacon bits. Try topping with sour cream or applesauce or more sharp cheddar cheese and make a crock pot cheesy pierogi casserole.
Spice: Try a little heat stir into the mixture a little Homemade Taco Seasoning or top with Jalapenos for a kick.
Variation tip: Greek Yogurt is a great alternative to sour cream. Also try cream cheese blends such as garlic and herb or dill to elevate your pierogi.
Alternate cooking method tip: The Instant pot is a quick way to achieve the same result. Cook for one minute in water or two cups chicken broth and then do a quick release, drain. Saute your onions in the butter and spoon on top the pierogies.
