Ham and Pickle Roll Ups
No ratings yet
Pickle Roll Ups are so easy to make in 10 minutes using just 3 ingredients. Deli ham with a layer of cream cheese, all rolled around a dill pickle is really the perfect appetizer.
Lay the ham slices flat on a cutting board. Spread about ½ ounce of softened cream cheese evenly over each slice.
Cut each dill pickle spear into thirds. Place one pickle piece along one short edge of each ham slice.
Roll each ham slice tightly around the pickle.
Insert four toothpicks evenly across each roll. Using a sharp knife, cut between each toothpick to create four bite-sized roll ups.
Arrange the roll ups on a serving platter. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving.
Christina's Notes
Pat the pickle spears dry with paper towels before assembling to help the cream cheese adhere better and keep the roll ups from becoming watery.
Full-fat cream cheese provides the best flavor and spreads more easily once softened.
Try different deli meats such as turkey, roast beef, corned beef, salami, or pimento loaf for easy variations.
Sprinkle everything bagel seasoning over the cream cheese before rolling for extra flavor.
Serve with ranch dressing or your favorite mustard for dipping.
These roll ups can be assembled up to 24 hours in advance. Keep them tightly covered in the refrigerator and slice just before serving for the freshest presentation.
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
Freezing is not recommended, as the cream cheese texture changes after thawing and the pickles release excess moisture.
