Homemade Bisquick

  • 6 cups all purpose flour
  • 3 tablespoons baking powder
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1 cup shortening


  • Add flour, baking powder and salt to the bowl of a food processor; Pulse for 15 seconds.
  • Add shortening to the food processor in small pieces; Pulse until the mixture resembles sand.
  • Store mixture in an airtight container and refrigerate for up to 3 months.


  • Recipe Can be Doubled: A great recipe for a crowd. Simply increase the ingredients proportionately and split it into multiple storage containers.
  • Cheese: I love a Homemade Biscuit with some Cheddar.
  • Butter Shortening: Alternatively, use a butter flavored shortening for a great butter flavor. Wonderful for shortcakes.
