1boxWhite cake mix - plus ingredients from the back of the box
44Oreos - divided
4cupsPowdered sugar
1cupButter - softened
2teaspoonsVanilla
2tablespoonsMilk
Instructions
Follow the instructions on the box to make the cupcake batter. Break 10 Oreos into big pieces and mix them into the batter. Bake as directed on the box and let them cool down entirely once done.
In order to pipe the frosting smoothly, it is crucial to finely blitz 10 Oreos in a food processor for the frosting preparation. Make sure there are no Oreo chunks and set the resulting crumbs aside.
Smooth butter by beating it in a large mixing bowl at medium speed. Add powdered sugar one cup at a time, making sure to blend well after each addition. The frosting will still have a powdery texture.
After adding the vanilla and milk, mix on high speed until the frosting starts to form. Continue mixing until fully combined. Then, add the oreo crumbs and mix for a few more seconds to ensure everything is thoroughly mixed.
Pipe the frosting onto the cupcakes using a frosting piping bag and your preferred frosting tip, and place the remaining 24 oreos on top of each cupcake.
Notes
Paper Cupcake Liners: To ensure easy cupcake removal and a easy cleanup, use paper liners when baking your cupcakes. Paper liners also make the cupcakes convenient to handle.
Sugar Free: If you prefer a low sugar alternative, you can use low sugar cake mix or low sugar cookie mix when making these flavorful treats.
Garnish: For a special added touch, garnish your cupcakes with mini oreos or crushed oreo crumbs. This not only will enhance the visual appeal but also adds an extra burst of the cookies and cream taste.
