Start by placing your pretzels in an even layer on a baking sheet that has been lined with parchment paper.
In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the semi-sweet chocolate by heating it in 30-second intervals. Stir the chocolate well after each interval until it is completely melted and has a smooth texture.
Coat the pretzels with the melted chocolate, then arrange a uniform layer of M&M s and peanuts on top of it.
Heat sugar in a medium saucepan over medium heat, stirring continuously. As the sugar starts to clump together and take on a light amber hue, keep stirring to prevent it from burning.
After the sugar has fully melted, proceed to add the butter. Take caution as the butter may create bubbles during this step.
Combine the sugar and butter, stirring until the butter is fully melted. Use a whisk to blend the mixture thoroughly. Gradually add the heavy cream while continuing to stir.
Boil for 1-2 minutes, then take off the heat and mix in sea salt, letting the caramel harden. Afterward, pour the caramel onto the pretzels. It is not necessary to use all of it.
Wrap and keep in the refrigerator to cool for a couple of hours. If you're in a hurry, you may choose to put it in the freezer. Cut into squares before serving.
Notes
Different Candies: Experiment with different types of candies to add bursts of flavor and color. Incorporate favorites like Rolos, crushed cookies, or different chopped nuts for added texture.
Premade Caramel: Opt for store-bought caramel as a convenient alternative to making your own. Using premade caramel can save you time without sacrificing the delicious caramel flavor.
Sea Salt: Garnish your chocolate bark by sprinkling more sea salt over the top. The gentle saltiness will beautifully contrast with the sweetness of the chocolate and caramel.
