envelope brown gravy mix

envelope Good Seasons Italian salad dressing mix

Instructions
Place roast in slow cooker and top with peppers and onions.
In a bowl, combine the gravy mix, salad dressing, wine, Worcestershire sauce and water; stir to combine.
Pour sauce over beef.
Cover and cook on low for 7-8 hours, or until meat is tender.
When meat has finished cooking, remove beef from slow cooker and transfer liquid to a sauce pan over medium high heat.
Stir together cornstarch and water to form a slurry.
Pour slurry into saucepan and whisk until sauce thickens, about 2-3 minutes.
Slice beef and serve with thickened sauce.
Notes
Experiment with your Cooking Liquid:
Depending on your grandmas recipe, you can use anything from cola to beef broth to vegetable juices.
Make a larger amount:
This recipe freezes great, so make extra.
Brown your Meat:
While not necessary, browning the meat caramelizes the proteins and will enhance the flavor.
