Air Fryer Monte Cristo Sandwich
This Monte Cristo sandwich recipe is the perfect way to cook this delectable sandwich. Crispy bread, piled high with ham, turkey and cheese. It is a true phenomenon.
Ingredients
- 1 ½ cup pancake mix
- 1 egg
- ½ cup milk
- ¼ cup water
- 1 tablespoon vanilla
- ¼ cup powdered sugar
- ¼ cup raspberry jelly
- 16 slices Swiss cheese
- 20 slices ham
- 8 slices Texas toast
Instructions
- Mix milk, water,egg, vanilla and pancake mix together in a bowl. Make sure batter is thick, add pancake mix to thicken.
- Assemble the sandwich like this: bread, 2 slices of cheese, 5 slices of ham, 2 slices of cheese and bread.
- Using toothpicks, stab the corners of the sandwich to lock both slices of bread together.
- Dip the sandwich in the batter on both sides and place sandwich in lined and pulled air fryer basket.
- Cook on 370 for 7 minutes, flip and cook for 3 minutes.
- Remove and serve with powdered sugar dusting and dip in some jelly.

- Easter Brunch: A great recipe to use leftover Easter brunch foods. You can assemble and have the next day or freeze for later meals.
- Add Turkey: The recipe does not feature turkey, however, the traditional sandwich does, so add some!
- Short cut tip: Feel free to use premade or ready made pancake mix to speed up the prep.
- Variation tip: Syrup. Serve with a side of maple syrup for dipping.
- Alternate ingredient: Gruyere cheese is a great alternative to swiss.
- Different bread: Use a whole wheat, whole grain or any bread that you enjoy for this recipe.
