Air Fryer Pickles

Air Fryer Pickles are better than the ones at the county fair. They're made in the air fryer, rather than deep fried, so they don't come with all the extra grease; Not to mention, they take just 15 minutes and 5 ingredients to make.

Equipment

Ingredients
 

  • 1 cup Pickle chips
  • ½ cup Flour
  • ½ cup Cornstarch
  • 1 Egg
  • 1 tablespoon Tony Chachere’s creole seasoning

Instructions
 

  • In a bowl, mix the seasoning, flour and cornstarch. In another bowl, beat the egg.
  • Dredge each pickle in the flour mixture then in the egg wash.
  • Coat each pickle back into the flour mixture and place in air fryer basket
  • Spray the air fryer basket with oil and cook at 400℉ for 5 minutes. Flip and cook for an additional 2 minutes.

Christina's Notes

  • Dry Pickles Thoroughly: Pat the pickles dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture. 
  • Chill the Pickles: Chilling the breaded pickles for 15-20 minutes before air frying helps the breading adhere better.
  • Don't Overcrowd the Air Fryer: Cook in batches to allow for proper air circulation. 
  • Don't Overcook: Overcooking can make the pickles tough and the breading burnt.
  • Use a Wire Rack in the Air Fryer: allows air to circulate around all sides of the pickles.
  • Spray with Oil: Spray the breaded pickles with cooking oil before air frying for even browning.
