Crock Pot Sloppy Joes
No ratings yet
This Crock Pot Sloppy Joes recipe is super easy to make! It takes just 10 minutes of prep before the crock pot takes over for some of the best sandwiches you'll ever have.
Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef, onion, and green bell pepper.
Cook for 6 to 8 minutes, breaking up the beef with a spatula, until the meat is browned and the vegetables have softened.
Drain any excess grease and transfer the beef mixture to the slow cooker.
Add the ketchup, celery seed, dry mustard, white vinegar, granulated sugar, and All Purpose Seasoning Blend. Stir until well combined.
Cover and cook on low for 3 hours or on high for 2 hours.
Stir the mixture before serving.
Spoon the sloppy joe mixture onto the brioche buns and serve warm.
Christina's Notes
Toast the buns before serving for extra texture and to help prevent them from becoming soggy.Adjust the sweetness and tanginess to your taste. Add a little extra ketchup for sweetness or a splash of vinegar for more zip.For deeper flavor, add 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce along with the other ingredients in the slow cooker.Using lean ground beef helps reduce excess grease and keeps the sauce from becoming oily.Serve with potato chips, coleslaw, macararoni salad, baked beans, or French fries.Store leftover sloppy joe filling in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.Reheat on the stovetop over medium-low heat or in the microwave until heated through.Freeze the cooled filling in a freezer-safe container for up to 3 months. Thaw overnight in the refrigerator before reheating. The sloppy joe mixture can be prepared up to 1 day in advance and refrigerated before reheating and serving.
