Instructions
Combine the apples, lemon juice, brown sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg together in a microwave-safe bowl; stir to combine.
Microwave on high for 5 minutes or until mixture is bubbling and juice comes out of the apples.
Remove from microwave, stir in the cornstarch slurry.
Microwave on high for 2 more minutes until the sauce thickens.
Can be served warm or cold.
Christina's Notes
Don't Overcook the Apples: Cook the apples just until they are tender-crisp. Overcooking them will result in a mushy dip.
Balance the Sweetness: Adjust the amount of brown sugar and cinnamon to your taste. If you prefer a sweeter dip, add more brown sugar. If you prefer a spicier dip, add more cinnamon.
Apple Pie Spice: Mix in some apple pie spice or almond butter with this recipe.
