Pineapple Pork Chops
No ratings yet
Tender, seared pork meets caramelized pineapple in this quick and delicious dish. My Pineapple Pork Chops offer a tropical twist on a classic, delivering perfectly balanced flavors with a tangy glaze – all in under 30 minutes. It's perfect for busy weeknights or easy entertaining.
Season the pork chops with the chili powder, salt and pepper, then add to the hot oil.
Cook the pork chops for 4-5 minutes per side, until golden and the pork chops release easily from the pan.
Meanwhile, in a small bowl, combine the pineapple tidbits, brown sugar, garlic and soy sauce.
Add the pineapple mixture to the pan and increase heat to medium-high until sauce begins to simmer.
Reduce heat to medium-low and cover with a lid. Continue cooking for about 10 minutes until the liquid is thickened to your liking and reduced by at least half.
Serve the pineapple pork chops topped with the pan sauce.
Christina's Notes
Don't Overcrowd the Pan: When pan-searing, cook the pork chops in batches to ensure even browning. Overcrowding lowers the pan temperature and results in steamed, not seared, pork.
Rest the Pork: After cooking, let the pork chops rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing. This allows the juices to redistribute, resulting in more tender and flavorful meat. Tent them loosely with foil to keep them warm.
Taste and Adjust the Marinade: Before adding the pork, taste the marinade and adjust the sweetness, saltiness, or acidity to your liking.
Consider Caramelizing the Pineapple: For an extra layer of flavor, grill or pan-sear the pineapple slices separately until they have some nice caramelized edges.
Add Fresh Herbs: Garnish this easy pork chops recipe with fresh cilantro, parsley, or green onions just before serving for a pop of freshness and color.
