In Loving Memory of my Dad

You may have noticed that, over the past few weeks, I haven’t been posting many recipes.  My dad was very sick and I spent most of my time with him.   This past weekend, my dad passed away.

He was an amazing man who touched so many lives.  He was one of my biggest fans and strongest supporters.  To say he will be greatly missed is an understatement in so many ways.

I’ll be taking some time to spend with my family.  To be honest, I’m still a little numb and not really myself.  In his honor, please enjoy his favorite dish — Braciole: Italian Stuffed Steak.

I promise I’ll be back soon — after all, cooking is what keeps me sane.

Thank you for your understanding.

  1. I loved your Dad too Chris. He was a very special man and he truly is missed. I will make this braciole in his honor very soon……many hugs and prayers going out to you and your family….

  3. Looks like I’m going to be one of your biggest fans, Chris! I can’t wait to try the braciole recipe. Everytime I make it I will have warm memories of your dad and all the good times Carlo and I have had with your family.

  4. Also a favorite dish of my Dad’s, he is gone 30 years now, the pain has gone, but I still miss him everyday. Keep all those good memories.

  5. Oh so sorry for your loss Christina My heart is reaching out to you at this very difficult time. Like me my Dad was mad about plants, wildlife and gardening and although he passed away six years ago there isn’t a time of the week that I don’t think of him. That phrase time will heal is nonsense but it will get easier, trust me….

  7. I went through a similar thing a year and a half ago. It’s such a tremendous loss to understand and process. My Dad was a cook so when I cook, I always feel like I am honouring him. Thinking of you and your family during this difficult time.

  9. Im so sorry for your loss Christina. My dad passed in 2002 and it’s still hard. It leaves a hole that never really colses But I know he is with me and watching over me and I will be with him again and that brings me comfort. I hope it does for you as well
