This Slow Cooker Apple Crisp is one of the best slow cooker recipes of all time. I love that the crock pot does all of the work.

I have a thing for apples. I seriously love them. Like, big puffy heart, love them.
We have about six apple trees on our property and I just love being able to pluck the apples I need for a recipe right from the tree when I need them.
And, on those off years when our trees don’t produce a lot, you’ll find me at our local apple orchard stocking up. This year was one of those years — we had a wacky spring and I swear it impacted the fruit production on our apple and pear trees. We only had a few apples that the deer devoured before I could even get to them.
Apple crisp is one of my favorite fall desserts — as is this Old Fashioned Apple Cake that my mom makes. It’s so warm and comforting – kinda like my favorite pair of slippers.
I thought I would try making my favorite fall dessert in my Crock Pot® slow cooker. This way it could cook away while we were off doing fall things — like leaf peeping!
It was a cinch to put together. I just sliced up some apples and topped them with some sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg.
Then I made my easy apple crisp topping with oats, brown sugar and more cinnamon and piled it on top of the apples.
Then it was just a waiting game. I set my Crock Pot® slow cooker to low for four hours and headed out to check out the gorgeous scenery around northeast Pennsylvania. I love where we live. It truly is beautiful.
When we came home, we had perfectly cooked apple crisp. The apples were tender and sweet and the topping was crispy. It was the perfect end to a perfect day.
I just love my Crock Pot® slow cooker. It saves me so much time on busy weeknights and helps me get dinner on the table fast. Plus, it’s great for desserts, too! It’s like having your own personal kitchen assistant.
This model is programmable so you can set it for your cooking time and when it’s finished, it will automatically switch to the “keep warm” setting. This way, I don’t have to worry about over cooking my food.
Plus, it has a locking lid so you can easily take it with you without it spilling. Ask my mom about the sausage and peppers that spilled in her car. In case you were wondering, it’s VERY difficult to clean up spilled sausage and peppers from underneath car seats. Just sayin’.

what kind of oats for this recipe you use, old fashioned rolled oats? Thanks!
I use old fashioned. I found they work best with this recipe.
