How Do I Get Crispy Breaded Pork Chops?

A fork holds a piece of juicy, meat against a plate with creamy mashed potatoes, crisp green beans, and another golden-brown serving of the delectable dish.

To ensure your juicy breaded pork chops are crispy on the outside, pan sear them before they are baked in the oven.

Dryness is Key: Pat the pork chops thoroughly dry with paper towels. Excess moisture will prevent the breading from adhering and crisping.

Thickness Matters: Opt for pork chops that are relatively uniform in thickness. This ensures even cooking.

Brine for Juiciness: Brining, even for just 30 minutes, makes a huge difference. A simple saltwater brine (1/4 cup salt per 4 cups water) adds moisture and flavor. Pat the chops dry thoroughly after brining.

You will need to cook the chops for a total of about 35 minutes or until the pork reaches an internal temperature of 145℉.

Expert Tips to Love This Recipe

  • Bake at the Right Temperature: A moderate oven temperature (around 375-400°F or 190-200°C) is ideal for even cooking and preventing the breading from burning.
  • Don’t Overcook: Cook pork chops until the internal temperature reaches 145°F (63°C). Use an instant-read thermometer to check for doneness. Overcooked pork chops will be dry.
  • Rest Before Slicing: Let the pork chops rest for 5 minutes before serving. This allows the juices to redistribute, resulting in a more tender and flavorful chop.
  • Alternate Cooking Method: Air fryer pork chops are always a great way to go.
  • What to serve with the Pork Chops: My family loves Roasted Smashed Potatoes, Lemon Orzo Salad, and Rustic Apple Tart.

I had high hopes for this but I’m disappointed. Yet another recipe that delivers chops that are crispy on top, soggy on the bottom, and breading that falls off when you slice into them. Flavor was okay
