  • Red Pepper
  • Yellow Pepper
  • Lean Ground Beef
  • Taco Seasoning
  •  Avocado
  • Salsa Verde
  • Olive Oil

How to Make Fajita Burgers- Step by Step

Preparing the peppers and onions in a cast iron pan.
  • Vegetables: First, thinly slice peppers and onions. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat and then add peppers and onions. Next, sauté until soft and caramelized.
  • Burger: Meanwhile, mix meat and spices in a bowl.Separate into 4 burgers.
  • Cook: When the peppers and onions are cooked remove from pan and next, place the burgers in the pan. Cook until desired level of doneness.
  • Topping: Lastly, place the salsa verde in bowl with avocado and add it to the salsa. Mash and mix it until well blended.
Adding the seasoning to the ground beef in a clear glass bowl, forming beef into patties and then placing them in the cast iron pan.
  • Serve: Finally, serve the burgers topped with the avocado mixture and any other desired toppings!

HOW DO I KNOW WHEN BURGERS ARE DONE?

It depends on how you like them. However, using a Meat thermometer and this guide will help:
>120°F, the burger is rare.
> 130°F, it’s medium-rare.
>140°F is medium.
>150°F is medium-well
> 160°F is well done.

CAN YOU TELL IF A BURGER IS DONE WITHOUT A MEAT THERMOMETER?

Indeed, press lightly on a burger, check to see the color of the juices, if they are pink the burger is not done.

Ingredients

  • 1 Vidalia Onion, Large
  • 1 Red Pepper
  • 1 Yellow Pepper
  • 1 Lb Lean Ground Beef
  • 2 tsps Taco Seasoning
  • 1 Avocado, large
  • 1 Tbsp Salsa Verde
  • 1 Tbsp Olive Oil

Instructions

  • Thinly slice peppers and onions. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add peppers and onions to the oil and sauté stirring frequently over med heat until soft and caramelized.
  • While the peppers and onions are cooking mix meat and spices in a medium size bowl kneading to mix well. Separate the meat mixture into 4 burgers and set aside.
  • When the peppers and onions are cooked remove from pan. Place the pan back on medium heat (don’t wipe the pan) and place the burgers in the pan. Seer over medium high heat and cook until desired level of doneness (about 5-6 minutes per side over medium heat to cook to med/well)
  • While the burgers are cooking place the salsa verde in a medium size bowl peel and chop the avocado and add it to the salsa. Mash and mix it until well blended.
  • Serve the burgers topped with the avocado mixture and any other desired toppings!
