Ingredient Notes for Mexican Burgers

Ingredients for cooking, including ground beef, yellow and red bell peppers, an onion, avocados, buns, a jar of green sauce, and a plate of mixed spices perfect for making a Mexican Burger, all arranged on a marble surface.

Essentially, a Mexican burger is a fusion of classic American burger fare with bold Mexican flavors.

  • Ground Beef: We recommend using lean mince ground beef for a healthier option. If you prefer, you can use ground turkey or chicken as a substitution.
  • Onion: Vidalia onions add a mild, sweet flavor to the burgers. However, any onion variety will work in a pinch.
  • Avocado: Ripe avocados provide a creamy and nutritious topping for your burgers. If you can’t find ripe avocados, you can also use guacamole.

See the recipe card below for a complete list of the ingredients with measurements.

If making them on the stove top, you will need a good grill pan to make these burgers.

  • Grill Pan: You can also use a good non-stick skillet.
  • Thermometer: Include at least 1 full sentence why you need this.
