  • Shortbread pie crust: Use a store bought or homemade. Graham cracker crust works too.
  • Cream Cheese: Make sure that it is softened, take out of the fridge and allow to reach room temperature.
  • Sugar: White sugar.
  • Milk : Whole Milk works best.
  • Whipped Topping: thawed.
  • Chocolate Pudding Mix: Instant pudding mix, such as jell-o chocolate pudding, not the pie filling.

How to Make Chocolate Cream Pie with Pudding

STEP 1: CHEESE LAYER

First, combine room temperature cream cheese with sugar and 1 tablespoon milk and then mix on medium speed in a large bowl until smooth. Fold in whipped topping. Pour into the crust and smooth.

STEP 2: CHOCOLAATE LAYER

Next, in another mixing bowl, whisk pudding mix and milk for 2 minutes or until soft-set and then pour the pudding mixture into pie, smooth with a spatula.

Mix the ingredients together for the chocolate layer.

STEP 3: SET

Lastly, refrigerate till set and well chilled, at least 2 hours.

  • 1 Shortbread pie crust
  • 3 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 2 T sugar
  • 1 T milk, for white layer
  • 1 cup whipped topping, thawed
  • 1 box instant chocolate pudding mix
  • 1 ¾ cup milk, for chocolate layer
