How to Make Ham in the Pressure Cooker

These are the basic steps for making Pressure Cooked Ham with Pineapple and Brown Sugar. Please refer to the recipe card below for more detailed instructions and nutrition information.

STEP 1: PREPARE INSTANT POT

You will want to start by lining you instant pot with aluminum foil to make the removal of the ham much easier or use the trivet. Then place 1/2 cup of brown sugar at the bottom of instant pot.

STEP 2: ADD THE HAM

Then add your ham to the instant pot, top with the remaining brown sugar and the pineapple rings along with the juice mixture.

STEP 3: PRESSURE COOK HAM

Turn the instant pot on high pressure and cook for 15 minutes with the pressure vent sealed. Then remove the seal to release pressure then take off the lid, remove ham and transfer to a serving platter and serve hot.

  • 4-5 lbs. spiral boneless ham
  • 1 can pineapple slices, with juice
  • 1 cup brown sugar

Instructions

  • Place aluminum foil in your instant pot, so you can remove them ham easier.
  • At the bottom of the instant pot, add half of the brown sugar.
  • Place the ham on top of the brown sugar.
  • Put the pineapple slices between the ham slices.
  • Pour pineapple juice over the ham.
  • Top the ham with remaining brown sugar.
  • Turn on the instant pot, with the vent sealed, on high for 15 minutes. (It takes about 20 minutes to decompress)
  • Do a quick release. Remove from instant pot, serve while hot.
  • Enjoy
