  • Butter: Use an unsalted butter so you can control the amount of seasoning.
  • Pork drippings in the pan: With the fat drained. Drippings from a pork roast or other drippings from your pork roast.
  •  All Purpose Seasoning and Porketta Seasoning: These will add a little extra flavor to the gravy, so much more than salt and pepper.

This gravy is very simply. Once you learn how to make the gravy you can make adjustments. Pork chops and gravy, pork loin roast and pork shoulder roast are all great with this gravy for pork. 

  • Chicken Stock: Try using chicken broth or for a richer flavor try a beef broth or use beef stock.
  • Pan Drippings: If you do not have drippings in the roasting pan, then you can make pork gravy without drippings, replace it with more stock.
  • Cornstarch: In place of the flour you can use cornstarch.

STEP 1: Make the Roux

First, melt butter in sauce pan over medium heat and then whisk or stir with a wooden spoon in the flour to form a paste.

STEP 2: Add the Liquid

Next, whisk in the stock and pork drippings into the butter and flour.

STEP 3: Season the Delicious Homemade Pork Gravy and Simmer for 4-5 Minutes

Then add the All Purpose seasoning and the porketta seasoning. Lastly simmer over medium heat until the gravy is the desired thickness.

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons Butter
  • 3 tablespoons Flour
  • ½ cup Pork drippings, with any fat drained out
  • 1 ½ cups Chicken stock
  • ½ teaspoon All Purpose Seasoning
  • ¼ teaspoon Porketta Seasoning

Instructions

  • Melt butter in sauce pan over medium heat.
  • When butter is melted, whisk in flour until a paste forms.
  • Whisk the flour paste for about 1 minute.
  • Slowly whisk in the stock and pork drippings
