Lazy Cake is a delicious and super easy to make dessert. It’s great for when I want a cake but don’t want to put in a ton of effort. Sometimes life is busy and you want a treat made from scratch but you also want it to be too difficult. This cake fits the bill.

  1. Preheat Oven and Prep Pan: Preheat the oven to 350℉ and grease an 8 x 8 baking dish or line with parchment paper.
  2. Make the Batter: Combine flour, granulated sugar and baking powder in a mixing bowl. Then, add the wet ingredients to the flour mixture.
  3. Bake, Cool and Dust: Pour batter into prepared baking dish and bake for 30 minutes. Cool on cooling rack and dust with powdered sugar.

Ingredients
  

  • 1⅓ cup All-purpose flour
  • cup Granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons Baking powder
  • cup Milk
  • ¼ cup Butter, softened
  • 1 Egg
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla
  • Powdered sugar, optional

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 350℉. Grease an 8 x 8 baking dish,
  • Combine flour, granulated sugar, and baking powder together in a mixing bowl.
  • Add milk, softened butter, egg and vanilla to the flour mixture. Beat on low speed until combined, then beat on medium speed for 1 minute.
  • Pour batter into prepared baking dish.
  • Bake for 25 to 30 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
  • Cool on cooling rack. Dust with powdered sugar, if desired. Serve and enjoy!
