This recipe makes perfect caramelized onions every single time. This caramelized onions recipe will change your life. These golden brown beauties will be the perfect partner for all your favorite soups, dips, pizza, sandwiches, (especially grilled cheese). A big pile of these savory onion slices are that extra something on your veggie burger. Don’t even get me started about the flavor of French Onion Soup and everyone’s favorite Potato chip partner Onion Dip! The caramelization process brings out the natural sweetness of the onions and is a compliment to so many of my favorite dishes. You can even save leftovers in ice cubs trays to add to your onion recipes (a quick hack used by many home cooks when they don’t have the patience to make again from scratch).
Caramelized onions are one of my favorite condiments. As the onions cook down and become sweet and caramel-y. And, your kitchen fills with an amazing aroma.
These onions would be incredible on so many things…Skillet Mac & Cheese, Steak Subs and my Jack Daniels Whiskey Burger.
You can make these onions ahead of time and stash them in the fridge. When you’re ready to use them, just warm on the stove and add a splash of water to perk them up.
