1. Sautee Vegetables

First, heat butter or oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Then add celery, green pepper and shallots. Sautee until tender, about 5-6 minutes.

2. Cook Shrimp and Add Garlic

Next, add minced garlic to the same skillet as the vegetables and stir until fragrant for about 1 minute. Then, pat raw shrimp dry with a paper towel and season with House Seasoning Blend. Turn the stove on low, and add shrimp and cook. Sear the shrimp in the pan for 3-5 minutes, or until shrimp completely cooks through.

3. Simmer the Shrimp and Vegetables

Add soup, water, and red pepper and bring the sauce to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes, until the white sauce has thickened. Serve the shrimp on top of hot rice and enjoy!

Expert Tips for Making the Best Shrimp and Garlic Rice

  • Seasoning: Add some more flavor to this shrimp and rice recipe with Old Bay seasoning, garlic powder, and a dash of lemon juice. You can also try Italian seasoning as well.
  • Creamy Garlic Shrimp Pasta: Instead of rice, try risotto or even pasta. For a low carb option, try cauliflower rice or zucchini noodles. It’s a good idea to salt the pasta water, so you don’t have to use shrimp with salt.
  • Fresh Parmesan: Try grated parmesan cheese on top of the shrimp. For other garnishes, try a teaspoon of red pepper flakes or parsley. Just add the parmesan cheese, then season with salt and pepper.
  • Alternate ingredients: Substitute crab meat, garlic scallops, or clams instead of shrimp. You can even make a garlic chicken pasta salad with a few ingredient adjustments to this recipe.
  • Wine: Try a splash of white wine in the sauce, such as a chardonnay, or add some cream to thicken the sauce a bit. Just add the heavy cream or chicken broth to make the creamy garlic sauce thicken.

I made this recipe last night and it was delicious. I did not have Cream of Shrimp soup so just used Cream of Chicken, I also used Vegetable Broth rather than water. That was the only change. Will definitely make again.
