What Is Boom Boom Sauce?

This Boom Boom Sauce recipe is a copycat version of Sheetz sauce that you they serve on their sandwiches.

Boom Boom Sauce is comprised from chili peppers, with savory notes from garlic – a perfect tangy-creamy-spicy combo. It is just not something you can use for tacos. You can use it as a dip for chicken and fries, a spread for sandwiches or burgers or even on grilled meats or vegetables. You will want to use this sauce on everything. Trust me!

How to Make Boom Boom Shrimp Tacos Recipe – Step by Step

  • Step One: First, place all the sauce ingredients in a bowl. (Photo 1 below)
  • Step Two: Then stir with a spatula. (Photo 2 below)
  • Step Three: Next stir until well combined and is a beautiful orange color. (Photo 3 below)

Steps for making the Boom Boom Sauce

  • Step One:  In the meantime, prepare shrimp according to package directions.(Photo 1 below)
  • Step Two: Then in a large bowl, combine coleslaw mix and Boom Boom sauce, then mix until well coated.

  • Step Three: Lastly, warm taco shells by wrapping them in a damp paper towel and microwaving on high for 30 seconds. (Photo 3 below)

  • Step One: To assemble. First, place 1/4 cup of coleslaw mixture on each taco shell.(Photo 1 below)
  • Step Two: Then top with cooked shrimp. (Photo 2 below)
  • Step Three: Finally, drizzle remaining Boom Boom Sauce on top of shrimp. (Photo 3 below)

The best thing about my Boom Boom Sauce is that you can take the basic recipe and make it your own. For instance, try adding Thai Sweet Chili Sauce or different types of peppers in the sauce to make your own unique recipe. Generally speaking, it will become a staple in your house.

Furthermore, by adding a few thin slices of cool creamy, avocado to my tacos, it balances the zip from the Boom Boom Sauce perfectly. Of course, the cabbage gives them a nice crunch. Clearly, you can add any toppings or vegetables to make these shrimp tacos unique. The best part was these easy shrimp tacos were ready to eat in under 20 minutes! Just 20 minutes.

How Long Can the Boom Boom Sauce last in the refrigerator?

Boom Boom Sauce is super quick and easy to make so you don’t need to make a big batch. Therefore, you can store it for up to a week in the refrigerator but honestly, it probably wont last that long. It is clearly too good.

Lastly, just store in an air tight container and you will be set.

  • 2 cups packaged Asian coleslaw mix
