Sauce pan with oil and garlic in, then the onions added. Then adding all the spices.
  • Heat: First, heat vegetable oil in a medium saucepan over medium-high heat.
  • Next, add onions and cook until softened, about 3-4 minutes then stir in minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds.
  • Remaining: Then add ketchup, water, minced chipotle pepper, brown sugar, vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, celery salt, black pepper and ground mustard; Stir until combined.
  • Simmer: Finally, turn heat down to low and simmer for 5-10 minutes or until sauce reaches desired consistency.
