These chicken and BBQ sauce sliders are delicious and easy make ahead meal if you’re short on time! You can make the sliders about 4 days in advance and refrigerate them in an airtight container or a baking dish wrapped in foil. Ingredient Notes for BBQ Pulled Chicken Sliders

Rolls, chicken, cheese, coleslaw and sauce.
  • Slider Rolls: Kings Hawaiian Rolls are an excellent brand for this slider recipe because they’re small, sweet, and come in packages of about 12-16 rolls. Different varieties of rolls are available, so you can use whatever kind you’d like. Just cut the Hawaiian rolls in half and add in the toppings.
  • Chicken: Shredded rotisserie chicken will pull apart easier than pork, so it’s perfect for this easy game day recipe. Leftover chicken can also be great if you want to make chicken pizza.
  • Barbecue Sauce: Use any store-bought barbecue sauce you want; there’s no such thing as enough BBQ sauce! Use as much sauce on top as you’d like to make your BBQ sliders incredibly tasty.

Recipe FAQs to Make BBQ Chicken Sliders

Sliders” usually refers to miniature hamburgers, and there are two possible explanations for how this name came about. One suggests that they were popular among sailors in WWII, who remarked that the amount of grease on the burgers meant they could “slide” down the throat when eaten. The other theory is that the White Castle fast food chain, which opened in 1921, coined the name by “sliding” orders towards their customers when serving them.

Toasting the buns helps keep them from getting soggy. You can also remove excess juices from the meat by pressing it with a spatula after cooking. A bit of sliced cheese will also help to create a barrier between the cooked chicken and the buns- and it’ll taste delicious! You can use cheddar cheese or Colby Jack cheese. Just top the sliders and enjoy once the cheese has melted.
