The salted caramel in these Hot Chocolate Bombs make a super special surprise to these creamy, decadent Hot Chocolate Bombs. Plus the added benefit of using your instant pot makes it even easier.

How to Make  Hot Chocolate Bomb Recipe– Step by Step 

  • Ready Instant Pot: First, place pot onto sauté mode. Next, add one and a half cups of water then place a glass bowl in to act as a double broiler. 
  • Candy: Second, add in your candy melts to the bowl and melted.
  • Grease Molds: Lightly grease the inside of your silicone molds. Brush in chocolate to your molds making sure that chocolate. Place in the freezer five minutes.
  • Fill: Then, add a half a tablespoon of cocoa powder, mini marshmallows and caramel to mold.

  • Complete Mold: Close mold by adding more of your melted chocolate on top of the marshmallows and lock in filing. Again, return to the freezer for 10 minutes.
  • Drizzle: Lastly, drizzle your caramel over the bombs. Immediately add a pinch of sea salt before the caramel hardens.

How to Make Hot Chocolate Bombs Even Cuter

A really fun trick to up your Hot Chocolate Bomb game is to decorate your mini marshmallows. It is a fun little extra surprise that “explosion” even more special. For example:

  • Use the edible markers to spell out words. Like I love you. Or alternatively, their initials.
  • brush on a light coating of different colored chocolates to make mermaid or other designs.
  • Try adding a little melted chocolate to the marshmallows and then roll in your favorite edible glitters or sprinkles.

Seriously, your bombs will be the talk of the neighberhood.

EQUIPMENT

  • Instant Pot
  • Hot Chocolate Bomb Mold

Ingredients

  • 24 oz brown candy melts
  • 7 tbsp hot cocoa powder w/ miniature marshmallows
  • 1 cup caramel - reserve 2 tbsp caramel
  • 1 tbsp sea salt

Instructions

  • Turn your Instant Pot to sauté mode. Place one and a half cups of water inside your instant pot. Place a glass bowl that will fit in your instant pot as it will act as a double broiler.
  • Add in your candy melts to the bowl. Continue to mix until the chocolate has completely melted.
  • Lightly grease the inside of your silicone molds. Add chocolate to your molds making sure that chocolate is completely coating the mold on the inside. Place in the freezer for about five minutes.
  • Remove your molds from the freezer. Add a half a tablespoon of cocoa powder and mini marshmallows per mold. Add 1 tablespoon caramel.
  • Add more of your melted chocolate on top of the marshmallows to close the mold and lock the cocoa and marshmallows from coming out. Return to the freezer for about 5 to 10 minutes.
  • Remove your cocoa bombs by pushing on the silicone side of the mold until the bomb pops out.
  • With a spoon, drizzle your caramel over the bombs. Immediately add a pinch of sea salt before the caramel hardens.
  • Please one or two bombs in your favorite mug and pour hot milk over it to melt the chocolate releasing the hot cocoa and marshmallows.
  • Stir with a spoon and enjoy!
