How to Make Sugar Cookies with Sprinkles

STEP 1: PREP AND WET INGREDIENTS

First, preheat oven to 350 line a baking sheet with parchment paper or silicone baking mat. Place jimmies in a shallow medium bowl or dish. Second, whisk together butter, shortening, and sugar in the bowl of a stand mixer at medium speed and then add in eggs, vanilla, and instant pudding mix. Continue mixing until thoroughly incorporated.

STEP 2: MIX AND ROLL

Then in a separate bowl stir together dry ingredients of flour, baking powder and salt and next add the flour mixture to the butter mixture a little at a time mixing between additions until all the flour is incorporated. Scoop out dough in tablespoon size scoops. Roll dough into a ball. Place into dish of jimmies and roll around pressing lightly until the dough ball is covered evenly with sprinkles and then place on prepared baking sheet about 2 inches apart.

STEP 3: BAKE

Next, bake for 12-15 minutes or until set and lightly golden brown around the edges for the perfect crunch. Finally, remove from the oven and allow to cool on the prepared baking sheets for 5 minutes before removing to a wire rack to cool completely.

  • ¾ Cups Butter – softened
  • ¼ Cup Shortening
  • 1 ½ Cups Sugar
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1 ½ tsp Vanilla
