If you hosted a Super Bowl Party this past weekend, you probably have left-over party food hanging around. Here’s a clever way to use up some of those left-overs…turn them into a grilled cheese sandwich!
It’s really super simple. And, this technique can be used for all kinds of left overs. Some of my favorite combos are:
- Leftover Sloppy Joe meat with Cheddar Cheese
- Leftover Buffalo Chicken Dip with American Cheese
- Leftover White Pizza Dip with Ham
- Leftover Sloppy Steak meat and peppers with provolone cheese
Here’s how I do it:
Just butter one side of two slices of bread. Place one slice of bread, butter side down on a griddle or in a pan over medium heat. Add 1/8 cup to 1/4 cup of left-over sloppy joe meat to the top of the bread. Add a slice of cheddar cheese (or whatever kind of cheese floats your boat). Top with remaining slice of bread, butter side up. Grill for 3-4 minutes, or until bread is golden brown. Flip sandwich and grill for 2-3 minutes more, or until other side is golden brown. Remove from griddle. Let stand for 1-2 minutes then slice in half diagonally.
See? Easy! And, oh so good!
