What you Need to Make BBQ Chicken Wings

  • 2 lb chicken wings
  • oil
  • Tomato Paste
  • Apple Cider Vinegar
  • honey
  • soy sauce
  • Worcestershire sauce
  • garlic powder
  • onion powder
  • chipotle powder
  • paprika
  • Salt and pepper
  • butter

How to Make Baked Wings – Step by Step

  • Preheat: First, preheat oven to 425F and then line a cookie sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
  • Heat Oil: Second, place 1 Tablespoon of oil in a cast iron skillet over medium heat and next pat the chicken wings dry and add in batches to the skillet.
  • Sear: Next, pan sear the chicken wings on each side until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side. Repeat with remainder.
  • Bake: Then bake chicken wings for 15-20 minutes, until an inserted meat thermometer reads 165F.

  • Sauce: Meanwhile, combine tomato paste and water in a saucepan over medium heat. Whisk until combined and then addall remaining ingredients, except for the butter.
  • Simmer: Bring mixture to a simmer, then reduce heat to low for 2 more minutes.
  • Toss: Finally, remove from heat and whisk in butter. And then toss and coat the wings in the sauce. Serve.

  • 2 Tablespoons oil as needed
  • Sauce Ingredients:
  • 6 oz Tomato Paste
  • 1/2 cup Water as needed
  • 3 Tablespoons Apple Cider Vinegar
  • 2 Tablespoons honey
  • 1/2 Tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 Tablespoon Worchestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon chipotle powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 1/2 Tablespoons butter

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 425F
  • Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat. Set aside.
