This easy fudge takes such little total time but is so rich and delicious. It is the perfect Christmas fudge.

Ingredient Notes

  • Chocolate Chips: I used semi-sweet chocolate chips to make this fudge, you could also use milk chocolate chips or dark chocolate chips.
  • Condensed Milk: It is important that you use sweetened condensed milk, not evaporated milk. You can also make your own sweetened condensed using this recipe from Add A Pinch.

Variations and Substitutions

  • Additions – You could add in walnuts, almonds, pecans, peanuts, creamy peanut butter, marshmallow swirl, crushed candy canes, caramel, potato chips, pretzels, M&M’s, cookie crumbs, etc. You can get super creative and use this recipe as a base to make our own unique sweet treat.
  • White Chocolate Chips – Use white chocolate chips in place of the semi-sweet to make mouth water white chocolate fudge. You can add a bit of vanilla extract for added flavor.
  • Stove Top – If you not have a microwave, you can also make this recipe on the stove top using the double boiler method. For this method you will need a glass bowl, a saucepan, and about an inch of water over medium heat, you can watch this tutorial video on how to set up a double boiler. Add the condensed milk and chocolate chips to the bowl and remain over heat until the mixture is completely smooth.

How to Make Christmas Fudge

These are the basic steps for making this Easy Fudge Recipe. Please refer to the recipe card below for more detailed instructions.

STEP 1: PREP THE PAN

Start by lining an 8 x 8-inch square pan with parchment paper or tin foil, you will need 2 pieces. Overlap the pieces so that the sides drape over one another. Spray with a non stick cooking spray for easy removal.

STEP 2: MELT THE MIXTURE

In a microwave-safe bowl, add chocolate chips and sweetened condensed milk. Microwave on HIGH for 2 minutes, make sure to stir every 30 seconds. If chocolate chips still not melted, continue to microwave and stir in 30 second intervals until completely smooth.

STEP 3: ALLOW TO SET

Pour chocolate fudge mixture into the prepared baking pan and chill in the fridge for 2 hours.  Once completely set, lift the overhanging parchment paper to remove the fudge from the pan and place on a cutting board.

STEP 4: CUT INTO SQUARES

Use a hot, sharp knife cut into 2×2 inch squares of fudge, you should get a total of 16 perfect slices.

This recipe is perfect to make ahead of time as you will need at least 4 hours for the fudge to set completely. I recommend making this recipe 1-3 days ahead of time.
