  • Other Seasoning – You can use this recipe as a guide and still add your own flavor to it. Add seasonings such as onion powder, fresh herbs like parsley, soy sauce, or Worcestershire sauce for this easy vegetable side dish.
  • Garlic Parmesan – For garlic parmesan mushrooms in the air fryer, hold the white pepper and paprika, swap in extra garlic powder and parmesan cheese. Garnish with extra parmesan cheese and herbs before serving.

How to Make Mushrooms in the Air Fryer

STEP 1: CLEAN AND CUT MUSHROOMS

First, preheat your air fryer to 390F degrees. Then clean mushrooms either by rinsing with water or wiping down with a damp paper towel. Cut each mushrooms into 2-4 slices.

STEP 2: SEASON AND COOK

Transfer sliced mushrooms to a large bowl. To the bowl of sliced mushrooms add salt, white pepper, garlic, paprika, dried herbs, and olive oil. Then mix until evenly coated. Add mushrooms into the basket, spread into an even layer. Cook for 10 minutes.

STEP 3: AIR FRYING MUSHROOMS

About 5 minutes in you will want to shake the air fryer basket to move around the mushrooms or flip the mushrooms. Cook for 5 more minutes. If necessary add for 3 additional minutes. Finally, remove from the air fryer and transfer to a serving bowl.

HOW TO MAKE THIS RECIPE AHEAD OF TIME

Prepare this recipe ahead of time by slicing and seasoning mushrooms. Cover bowl with plastic and store in the fridge for 1-2 days. When you are ready to cook pop them into the air fryer to cook.

Store leftover air fryer portobello mushrooms in an airtight container in the fridge for 3-4 days.

You sure can! To make mushrooms in the air fryer all you need is some oil, spices, and 20 minutes.
