How to Make Cheez It Recipe- Step by Step

Food processor with all the ingredients in, before and after mixing.
  • Mix: First, in a food processor at low speed, chop the cheese, butter and spices together.
  • Dough:   Second, add the flour and blend and next, add water 1 tablespoon at a time until dough forms.
  • Chill:  Third, cut the dough into 3 dough balls on parchment paper and then cover in plastic wrap and place into fridge for 1-2 hours.
  • Form: Next, flatten each dough ball on a floured surface. Cut to form 1-inch squares.
Cheese rolled out on a tray and in the air fryer ready to cook.
  • Punch: Place in air fryer basket. Finally, using a skewer punch whole in center of cracker to avoid puffing up. 
  • Cook: Lastly, cook on 370 for 6 minutes, shaking basket for even cooking.

  • add the flour and blend. Add water 1 tablespoon at a time until dough forms
  • Cut the dough into 3 dough balls. Cover and place into fridge for 1-2 hours.
  • Remove and flatten each dough ball on a floured surface. Cut the edges to form a square and cut out 1/2 to 1” squares. Salt and place in air fryer basket. Using a toothpick, punch whole in center of cracker to avoid puffing up.
  • Cook on 370 for 6 minutes. Remove and let cool and dry.
